Melting process of Andean glaciers in Ecuador: a metapopulation approach (Wings for Amazon Project,
U-Report Ecuador, YOUNGO)

November 12, Tuesday
11:00 12:00
Distrubance effects and high temperatures promote a niche displacement of species around the globe. In tropical ecosystems, the limits of altitudes and microhabitats can suffer a change of physionomy and communities composition due to the climate change effects as precipitation levels and temperature mean. With two examples between Plant and beetles populations as markers, we started to see why the glaciers presente can determine gene flow and recruitment process in forest reservoirs or seeds reservoirs to keep the species exchange and a successful ecological succession.
