In 2024, the BRICS Youth Energy Agency launched its flagship BRICS Youth Energy Outlook to reflect key trends of the enlarged BRICS group. To better focus on thematic research, which is the foundation of BRICS YEA international advocacy, eight Young Expert Groups (YEG) were established to deliver a fact-based science-driven report.
Join us for the presentation of the 6th edition of the BRICS Youth Energy Outlook, which has been published since 2015 while managing to keep up with the changing energy and climate landscape. In 2024, BRICS Youth Energy Agency brings together young experts on various aspects of energy. Through the Young Expert Groups, BRICS YEA sets hypotheses, conducts consultations and delivers policy together with young experts from the agency’s network across the nine BRICS countries and the Global South.
The YEG members are young experts – representatives of universities, businesses, academic and research centers, as well as governments. The YEG activities are held by a chief expert from among the group members along with a secretary. In June 2024, the first cohort of the BRICS YEA Young Expert Group members finalized the Outlook, and this session is the first public presentation of its key findings. Chief Experts or YEG fellow members will report on the respective Outlook sections.
