Youth for Clean Energy and Green Technologies: Quiz!

Scenario of the event:
1. Introductions and welcoming remarks
Time: 5 minutes
The moderator introduces the topic, presents the objectives of the event and notes the importance of scientific and technological solutions in achieving carbon neutrality. Welcoming speakers representing different areas: science, technology and digitalisation for a sustainable future.

2. Panel discussion ‘Digital Solutions for a Sustainable Future’
Time: 20 minutes (two participants, presentations of 5-7 minutes each)
Speakers:
  1. Zongxu Xie, PhD Candidate, Water Resources Management and Global Governance, Tsinghua University and Oxford University, People’s Republic of China
  2. Ekaterina Khrykina, Clean Energy ambassador
  3. Gabriele Casella…

Key questions:
  • A short presentation on low carbon energy sources.
  • What technological innovations will help us adapt and mitigate the impacts of climate change?
  • How do science and digitalisation contribute to addressing the impacts of climate change?
  • How can youth influence the development of sustainability-oriented technologies?

3. Quiz-laboratory "Mix energy"
Time: 30 minutes
Format: Interactive quiz using the survey app – Kahoot
Description: Going through the lab stations on the topic of the lowest carbon sources of clean energy: solar, hydro, nuclear, wind. Using Kahoot. Question format: answer choice, true or false, photo quiz, etc. Individual participants earn chips from each station for correct answers. At the end, the most active receive prizes
Sample questions:
  • What percentage of global CO2 emissions are related to the digital economy?
  • Which technologies play a key role in replacing fossil fuels?
  • What digital solutions are helping to improve agricultural sustainability?

4. Feedback and reflexion
Time: 5 minutes
Description: The moderator invites participants to share their impressions and conclusions from the panel discussion and game. The discussion opens on how everyone can contribute to the development of innovative solutions and sustainable technologies.
Summarising the outcome of the event. The moderator emphasises the importance of youth involvement and support for new ideas. We will give symbolic prizes for active participation.
